The course will proceed through collective decision-making based on the emergence of materials and collaborative constellations.
The course will mainly involve group work and individual preparation, however one-on-one discussions with the tutors will be possible throughout.
At the end of the course there will be a public performance by the course participants as part of the Time of Music Festival 2025. The format of this presentation is open and can include finished works, works-in-progress, demonstration of process, and other modes of sharing.
“Co-creative processes have an ever growing presence and recognition in new music. Works made through mutual agency are diverse in expression and rich in their unfolding. Co-developmental procedures have a way of challenging our understanding of the field in general, including the roles and infrastructure that have historically defined the artists working within them.”
– Simon Løffler & Jennifer Torrence
Tutors
Simon Løffler
Simon Løffler (1981) is a composer, performer and instrument maker. He studied composition in Copenhagen, Berlin, Aarhus and Bruxelles. His work is based on prolonged developmental processes that develop alternative instrumental practices exploring the mechanics of the body. He performs around the world and currently divides his time between Oslo and Copenhagen.
